UDA Anyone?

Matt and I are headed up to Salt Lake on the 13th-15th for the Utah Dental Association conference, is there anyone else heading there too? It'll probably be a short trip, but if anybody else will be around there we would love to see you!

President Hinckley

As most of you must know, the President and Prophet of our church passed away last night surrounded by family. We went peacefully. It is comforting to know that he is in a better place and that he is now with his loving wife again.
We had just had a lesson in Family Home Evening last week about prophets and Treyson proudly said that President Hinckley was our prophet today. I sat down with him and told him that he had died last night and he was most concerned (not to make light of things...) that grandpa Hammons had gray hair too and he was probably going to die too. We hope not!
President Hinckley will be missed greatly by all as being a wonderful man and prophet. He truly was inspiring in all he did.

And so it begins

Well here is the start to the little girl room! My mother in law and I just picked out the fabrics today and I am going to design the whole thing. It should be fun!!

The chenille on the bottom is still in deciding... I couldn't find cream color so I opted for this pale yellow (on the right) and then we went to Joanns and found a tiny bit of cream so we got that too. I like the quality of the yellow a lot more, but I'm leaning colorwise to the cream. What do you think????

The flower pattern will be the outside of the bumper and the inside will be chenille/flower/satin/green OR polka dots... a little confusing I'm sure. You'll just have to see. The bed skirt is going to be mostly the strips, with a strip of satin and a strip of polka dots. And a sheet of green and polka dots too to match! So excited!! AND the bumper will have satin bows and ruffley top. If you can't picture it, just wait a couple weeks and it'll be finished I'm sure. Below is a link to a bedding set that I found that I have based this off of a bit, check it out if you want.
Only 2 months to go, I'm a little nervous!

Let it SNOW. . .

We woke up to it snowing this morning!!! Treyson said it was only raining, but I saw white. It sure stuck up in the nearby mountains, but not in our back yard. It is so pretty to see (especially at a distance) and I am glad to not have to shovel an out of the driveway anymore. It's beautiful and sunny now!

All time high!

Matt is very proud to say that he has reached his all time high in his bowling league last night.....

248!!!
Isn't that awesome?!?! He was very excited about it, mostly because he surpassed his dad's high of 243. He is loving the competition of the bowling league and loves to be able to get out and throw some balls down the alley. The discount by being in a league makes it real easy for him to go down and bowl a couple games here and there. I never thought he'd be into it as much as he is, but he LOVES it! Keep up the good work hunny!

Funnies

Not much to blog lately.... I've been on the search for just the right fabrics and designs to make baby girl's bedding and nursery (actually my mother in law is making it --I'm not that talented yet!). I'll keep you all posted because I'm sure you are dying to see what I've picked out and how the room will turn out... right?!?!

Anyhow, to fill your blogging addiction I have a few funnies to tell. I've been meaning to write them down for a long time, but I just haven't thought of it. These are all Treyson tales because this age seems to come up with some pretty funny stuff...

This summer I decided to take the kids to the weekly playgroup for our ward and it was at the splash pad just about maybe 1 to 1 1/2 miles away --on bike. I had just purchased a sweet bike trailer off Craigs List and I thought I'd try it out. Well the way there was awesome, no problems! We played, got wet, ate some lunch and decided it was time to go home. We started our journey home just before noon and noon in St. George in August is HOT. And by this time the kids and I were wasted from the morning activities, but I must prevail...somebody had to get us home! About half way home I was exhausted and going A LOT slower than I could just have easily walked. Biking an extra 60+ pounds is hard work! I had to stop numerous times to not die of heat stroke or something. Just when I reached flat ground I was trucking along a bit faster, not fast enough though, because Treyson said,

"Mom, we should have taken the car!"

"Why?" I asked, even though I totally knew the answer and had wished I had taken the car too.

"Because...this bike is REALLY slow!" he said.

And then one night I decided to make sloppy joes for dinner, which I never make. I don't know if it was a pregnant thing or what but I sent Matt to the store for some ingredients and off I went. I thought it was turning out just fine... until we sat down to eat and Treyson said this...

"I don't like these!"

I don't know our exact answer to it, but it probably was something like this, "Just try it and you might like it."

Treyson, after trying a bite, "These are disgusting!"

"They're good!"

"These things taste like slobber."

"How do you know what slobber tastes like?"

"Because it tastes like this!"

(I'm totally laughing while writing this...)

And lastly the other week at playgroup we went over to our friend's house for the morning to play. We had lots of fun there and it was finally time to head home so I got the kids jackets and shoes on. I asked Treyson to go tell Carter thanks for having us over to play. He got an angry look on his face and shook his head. I proceeded to tell him that he needed to be nice and say thank you. He wasn't budging so I asked him where his manners were...

His response, angrily, "I left them at home!"

How can you not laugh at that?! I really tried not to let him see me though.

Kids say the funniest things, huh?!

Christmas Loot

Treyson and his Hot Wheels spinner case from Gma Cheetham
Treyson's ball set, Cru got a smaller one, but is in love with Treyson's, go figure.
Gma and Gpa Hammons got the "older" grandkids these cool roller racers, Cru, again, was jealous, looks like he might need one later. Matt surprised Haley with this pretty snowboard and boots, too bad they will go unused until next year, not too coordinated in that department, especially being pregnant!
Haley got a new sewing machine, she sold her other one before moving to St. George to lighten our moving load, so excited to have one again.

We had a great Christmas this year and we were so excited to not have to travel more than 10 miles!! No white Christmas, but we were okay with that. There's something about staying at your own home on Christmas and being able to enjoy each other and all your fun new things "Santa" brought. We spend Christmas Eve at Matt's parent's house and had a wonderful dinner and opened presents. We are glad to have family so close!

Look who is FINALLY walking...

Cru has finally decided that he can do the walking thing and he has left crawling in the dust.

He just decided enough was enough and he didn't want to be left out anymore! His aunt Annie things he looks like "Mini-Me" from Austin Powers because he holds his hands up by his chest, it's so cute. Way to go Cru!

GIRL Diaper Cake

FIRST girl present!! Matt's aunt Gayle made this for us, with a cute blanket with it too. It is so cute! So excited for a girl (names are still under discussion...), I'm having tons of fun finding cute things to dress her up in. Most of you know how thrifty I am and I finally decided to just "splurge" on a $10 sweater from Osh Kosh, I know, baby steps. Can you see those way cute black shoes on here???? They are so tiny.

Pregnancy Cravings

I have a new obsession during this pregnancy... Izze drinks! I love them. They are fruit juice with a sparkling water kick. I first had them on vacation visiting family in Washington over Halloween, we found them at Costco and my older sister said they were her favorite so we got them. And ever since then I have been craving an Izze! During one of my recent trips to Target I glanced over to another lady's cart and saw them in there, ahhhhhh, had to know where she got them!! I obviously found them and every time I go back to Target I pick up a few more packs... they have Apple (haven't tried yet), Clementine, Blackberry, Grapefruit, and Pomegranate at our Target. Not quite sure if there is any other flavor, but you must try them!!
Any strange cravings for any of you?
