Photo Help

I recently took a short photo class through the community and now I'm all about photo everything! Now poses my question... Do you have a photo editing program that you love??? I have never had anything to "touch up" my pictures or do fancy card, layouts, etc. and now I really want to get into that. I don't have the slightest idea what to get or how to learn it so that's where you come in. Tell me what you have, love, or wish you had and how you learned all your knowledge. Thanks for helping guys! One of my recent pictures of Macey... untouched and unedited.

photoshop, photoshop! :) Also, if you want to learn a lot about photography there are photography forums that you can get on and you can learn a lot. Just search for photography forums. If you ever want to talk bout photography just email me, we can help each other learn. As far as all the digiscrapping stuff, Loralee is your woman for that. :) By the way, cute picture of your little one!

What kind of camera do you have? I've been looking for a good camera... any suggestions?

Great picture of Macey!
PHOTOSHOP. Photoshop elements is very reasonably priced ($100) and you can do TONS with it! How exciting, its so addicting!!!!

I agree with all the photoshoppers! You can download a 30 trial so you can see if you like it. I can help a little, but I am not a pro. And you can get it a little cheaper on amazon ($65 or so).

Photoshop is great, but a lot of photographers are using Lightroom too. It is pretty reasonably priced and more user friendly than photoshop.

Thats a great photo first of all. She is such a cutie. Photoshop is what I use. I started with Corel Paint shop, loved it but wanted more. Moved to Photoshop elements and then to Photoshop cs3. Corel Paint shop was the easiest for me to learn and understand, you can find it at most Costcos. Photoshop took some getting used to but I think that was because I was so used to Paint shop. I use my programs mostly for my scrap booking. Good luck with what ever you choose.

No way! Not photoshop! (okay, it's great too - haha) BUT... if you are looking for the most professional look possible (not to mention more options) with your vignettes and color conversions (sepia, b&w, old-fashioned, etc) try Adobe Lightroom! It is so great - although not the cheapest or most intuitive - I am willing to bet you'll like it better once you figure it all out. You can get a free trial version online.

as you take the more advanced classes you learn more about actual photo editing, but the earlier classes focus on the different things you can do in photoshop, especially digiscrapping. also, on that site there is a link to her blog and she has this thing called photoshop friday. click on that link and it has a TON of step by step tutorials on different things you can do with photos. Photoshop really is AWESOME!
